MultiCam Mode
In MultiCam production view, users can create a playlist for each channel by simply dragging and dropping clips. Channels can also be slaved or synchronized so playback and cueing are linked, a convenient feature when playing key and fill, or playing back multiple camera angles. It is also possible to slave record channels, for example, when recording multiple camera angles.

Rundown Mode
The Rundown mode is designed for playout of manually generated rundowns or rundowns received from MOS-enabled newsroom systems (interface to a newsroom system requires the NXNSSMOS option). Both Rundown and MultiCam views handle playlists, but the Rundown view manages four channels in one view (A/B/C/D) and MultiCam manages channels through separate playlists.

Rundown and MultiCam views can work in parallel. For example, in a common scenario in news production, Rundown manages the playout of stories and Multicam is used to play out backgrounds, loops and teasers. The Rundown can be controlled through the NEXIO Studio Suite graphical user interface (GUI), QWERTY keyboard or via a Hi Tech Systems HT624 control panel. For redundancy, one NEXIO Studio Suite can act as master to a second slave NEXIO Studio Suite.

AddOn Production Mode
AddOn Production Mode is designed to substitute existing tape based workflows when prerecording TV-Shows.  These will often be pre-recorded "as live" to enable final editing, control over content and duration of the show. Traditionally studio productions have been recorded to tape, with the show tape available after the last scene shot or the recorded show edited in an editing suite.  NEXIO Studio Suite’s Add-On Production Mode combines the advantages of both these ways by enabling timeline recording and editing on the NEXIO server.  The completed show is recorded as a timeline which is ready to play immediately.  Alternatively it can be conformed into a single file via NEXIO’s Instant on Line or edited quickly through on-SAN editors such as VelocityESX or Final Cut Pro 7.

Tape Ingest
With tape ingest, it is possible to ingest from videotape or create a batch ingest list. RS-422 ports are required on the PC and the NXNSSTAPECTL option. With batch ingest, a list of ingest jobs are created either on NEXIO Studio Suite or imported as an EDL or Avid® Log Exchange file.

Tape Archive
Even in file-based workflows, it can be necessary to archive clips to videotape, which can be done through the Tape Archive view. RS-422 ports are required on the PC and the NXNSSTAPECTL option. Tape archive allows an operator to create an archive list and have this list automatically dub clips to tape.
